NND- Inky Paws Challenge #12- Beach

Hi there! This is my second post of the day... very unlike me :)

Today starts the new challenge over at Newton's Nook! This challenge we are challenging you to create a beachy themed project.

I have used the fabulous Newton's Summer Vacation (US/UK) for my card....

*Cut the small banner from Lawn Fawn 'Stitched Party Banners' and stamp Newton with the sand castle onto it and colour in.
*Add the sentiment and heat emboss in Wow 'Metallic Gold Sparkle'.
*Cut the larger of the banners twice to creat a shaped card blank and add off cuts of the yellow paper to cover the front.
*Add the banner with the image and add some ribbon to the holes.

I just love how fun this little guy is to colour and I'm sooooo in love with yellow at the minute as it's just so summery.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Cards And More summer fun

Shellabrate!!

Hello and happy Friday! I hope the weather is as glorious where you are as it is here in North East Wales :) It is so lovely that the wee ones can play out in the garden in the summer holidays .. a sprinkler, bubbles and an ice-cream is all that's needed to keep my little entertained and it makes me so happy to see their joy enjoying the little things.

Today I'm sharing a card using a couple of Lawn Fawn sets and dies....

*Cut a piece of watercolour card and create a splotchy watercolour background using Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean.
*Using watercolour paints create the sand and seaweed fro the ocean floor.
*Stamp sea dwelling critters from Lawn Fawn 'Critters From The Sea' and Lawn Fawn 'Life Is Good' with Archival Black ink.
*Paint the creatures with watercolours and using a shell stamp from 'Life Is Good' paint with water colour onto the stamp and then use to get this cool effect. Do the same with the bubble stamp to add more texture and layers to the background.
*On to some vellum use Clark's ABCs to create the fun sentiment and die cut this with Speech Bubble Border and then attach this to the card by folding the edges around the back of the card layer and gluing at the back.

Love the look of watercolours on this as I believe they are perfectly suited to under water scenes.

Thanks for stopping by!

Today is my first post day over at Newton's Nook Designs and I'm still so excited to be on this awesome team :)

Today I'm sharing a card that I have used two of the July release on.... Newton's Vacation and Beach Party....

*Cut a panel on a angle for the front of the card and stamp Newton in his rubber ring from 'Newton's Summer Vacation' (UK/US) onto it. Stamp another Newton onto a sticky note, fussy cut out on stick onto the Newton stamped onto the card to mask him out.
*Now stamp the wave from 'Beach Party' (UK/US) and remove the mask.
*Colour the image in Copics and add the sentiment before adding this to some patterned paper and then the card blank.

I just love how chilled out he looks just floating around.....

So with all the excitement around here ... I totally forgot to pick a winner of the Newton Stamp Set and the winner is SnappyJackie !! If you could please send me your address Jackie and I will pop it in the post for you :)

Here's my project using the colour combo....

*I ran a piece of the Pucker Me Pink Add A Little Dazzle Craft Metal with the Snowflake Background Stencil (available in the Add A Little Dazzle Boutique - link in side bar) through my Bigshot using a No More Shims mat (available in the Add A Little Dazzle Boutique - link in side bar) to emboss the metal.
*Leaving the metal on the stencil I took some nail varnish on a cotton bud and took off the colour from the raised snowflakes through the stencil.
*Attach this piece to the card.
*Cut a scallop border out of the Precious Pearl Add A Little Dazzle Craft Metal using Lawn Fawn 'Stitch Scallop Borders' and then attach this to the card above the embossed pink metal piece.
*Stamp the snowman and greeting from Wplus9 'Heartfelt Holidays' onto a piece of cream card and add above the scalloped border.

I love how easy the metal takes the embossing and it adds such luxury to a card.

A Wedding Set

Hello and happy Friday! I'm so excited that it is the last day of school before the summer holidays :) can't wait to have my little boy with me for the summer.

Today I'm sharing with you a little card, tag and gift wrap combo, I just love that you can make everything match if you do it yourself.

*I stamped a number of the rose images from Winnie & Walter 'The Big, The Bold Extras', coloured them using Copics and then fussy cut them out.
*For the card I stamped and cut out the banner from the same set and added the words to the banner. Arranged the roses under the banner and glued to the card. The banner I used foam pads to attach. I then added some of the dots from the stamp set to create a spray affect.
*For the tag, I cut it using Lawn Fawn 'Tag you're It' and used some of the roses and added the sentiment from the Winnie & Walter stamp set.
*For the gift wrap I just stamped the rose image all over the paper in a light grey ink.

Thank you so much for popping by! Also if you missed it it's the July Release of Newton's Nook this week and there is also a blog hop today to celebrate a year of Newton's Nook Designs ... so lots of changes to win some of the new release.
